Last week, we made circuits with our big buddies in Mr. G's 5th grade class! We had such a fun time learning how make circuits to do cool things like build a helicopter, turn on a light, and spin a top!

This past week in social studies, we learned about Dr. Martin Luther King and his impact to the world. When I asked the students what the learned about Dr. Martin Luther King, some of their replies were:
In December, we were able to compare and contrast different versions of the story "The Three Little Pigs." We compared the characters, settings, and types of houses built. We did not realize there were so many different versions of that classic story.
In class, we are learning different strategies to help us add two numbers. So far we have learned to use our fingers and to put the big number in our head and count on. We're increasing our fluency in addition!

Science: Living and Non-Living Living things grow, breathe, and eat. Here we are before our Christmas program :) We did a spectaular job singing Five Little Christmas Trees, Steady Beat, and Ha Ha Holidays! For most of us, that was our first time performing in front of a large crowd! All our hard work and practice paid off!
We had a mass kindergarten Christmas tree party. Thanks to winter donation money from parents, we were able to purchase frosting, ice cream cones, and candy to decorate our trees. We had so much fun!
